Made with Love Delectable Edibles tumbled into being in the Spring of 2001. Colin & Alexandra Proctor, stunned by its rapid birth, fought desperately to keep up. Following a gentle suggestion of consciousness, they mixed their first three Spice Blends, as a last minute extra to take to the Spring Craft Extravaganza, a local craft fair in the small rural town of Canning, Nova Scotia.
Our business destiny was launched that fateful weekend as Spice Blends ran off the table, causing late-night panic for the unseasoned couple who worked through darkness to meet the unbelievable demand for their original creations.
Alex soon realized the life purpose she had been so eagerly seeking could be lived throughout her everyday activities. A passionate communicator, she connects deeply with the many new faces she encounters on a daily basis, knowing that in each new person she may discover a doorway of joy, truth, illumination and exchange.
In her wellness practice, Whole Being Awareness, she teaches living life with love. Her need for constant transformation, renewal, challenge and creativity is satisfied by the ever-changing parade of publicity, photographs, labels, displays and new products her busy mind is continuously conceptualizing and forcing her over worked laptop to materialize.
Colin has become the primary business partner working hard in every aspect of their company. He was the motivation behind their growth, prompting the development of their second three Spice Blends, which added complexity and sophistication to their flavour line. He enjoys connecting one-on-one with his regular customers at Farmer’s Markets and the conception of new products, a passionate collaboration he shares with Alex.
Colin is now Made with Love’s Spicemaster over seeing the handcrafting of nine Spice Blends and a myriad of instant gourmet meals from their Delectable Edibles line -- that is when he isn’t washing endless dishes while wishing he could play guitar, without inducing guilt-ridden feelings about needing to tie up more plants in the greenhouse, what is the next order or invoice to be "filed" within his masterful system of impeccable order and of course, upping production to ensure we have enough stock for our christmas shows.
Now in their tenth year of business, the couple balances raising their four young children with the demands of a small expanding business, which becomes more consuming each year. Their continued focus is creating healthy, all natural, earth-friendly products, which integrate gourmet flavour with quick & easy preparation and emphasize simple whole food cooking. These basic core concepts bring more time, enjoyment and natural wellness to our busy urban lifestyle while concentrating awareness on green business principles.
